All kitchens are incomplete without reliable cabinetry.

Thus the need for understanding the basics of buying the best brand becomes relevant.

Most of us want quality, style and affordability packed into one.

With this in mind, I have set up a systematic evaluation of Cubitac vs Fabuwood to help you determine what meets your standards.

Cubitac and Fabuwood are budget friendly brands that offer semi custom cabinetry, but which one is better?

I had this question eating me up since I wanted something with high value that would meet my vision for design.

It led me down a deep dive of Cubitac vs Fabuwood and this is the end result.

The question is about what brand will serve you better, not what is deemed popular.

So I am positive that you will find the following content helpful in choosing the better between the two.

Let us look into the quality, durability, customization and more to help you find a suitable choice!

    What Are Cubitac Cabinets?

    What Are Cubitac Cabinets

Cubitac is a brand that offers semi custom cabinetry that was established in the year 2011 in Ridgefield, New Jersey.

It boasts high quality with globally sourced raw materials and components that are assembled locally in the USA.

Their cabinets have solid wood and quality plywood construction with door styles ranging from modern, traditional to transitional.

“Every Kitchen has a Soul” is the phrase that pulls together the brand identity of Cubitac as they commit to being the people’s kitchen by the kitchen people.

The product line consists of Imperial, Prestige, Basic and Presto that are tailored to meet your vision with 18 design styles (where 4 are to be discontinued at the time of writing this content).

They have a lead time of 2 to 8 weeks depending on stock and customization.

It is the brand of choice for the budget conscious buyer that seeks good quality to cost ratio.

I recommend you to check the Cubitac cabinets price list on your local retail sites and start your voyage.

    What Are Fabuwood Cabinets?

    What Are Fabuwood Cabinets

Fabuwood is also a semi custom cabinetry brand that was launched in the year 2009 and continues to operate from Newmark, New Jersey.

They follow a self made Q12 quality standard that consists of 12 specifications proving the brands commitment to high value.

They source their parts from around the world through dedicated factory lines and follow a protocol for domestic assembly in the USA.

They cater to every budget with a guarantee of making quality attainable at reliable speed.

Their product line consists of Illume, Ovela, and Allure series that come in framed, frameless, all plywood and solid wood builds.

They have a lead time of 2 to 3 weeks which speaks of their commitment to fast delivery.

If you are an eco conscious consumer, Fabuwood meets sustainability standards in both material sourcing and production.

It is the brand for you whether you want budget friendliness or a vast array of door designs to choose from.

So get involved and start your search for the Fabuwood cabinet that meets your desires.

A Side By Side Comparison of Cubitac Vs Fabuwood

A Side By Side Comparison of Cubitac Vs Fabuwood

With cabinetry, we often don’t know what to look at beyond budget, design and sizing.

The glaring concern I was faced with, taking in a previous mishap, was the question of warranty.

Since we tend to brush over the surface, it is easy to miss the more important concerns of warranty, material build, finish and so on.

I started understanding this as I began a deep dive on Cubitac and Fabuwood.

Therefore, I have made the following list as a comparative review between Cubitac vs Fabuwood to highlight what you should keep in mind when looking at investing in cabinetry for your home.

Small things can start to feel overwhelming without a clear plan.

But don’t worry, we will walk through it step by step.

    Quality And Durability

We talk about quality and durability but what does it mean for Cubitac vs Fabuwood cabinets?

    Let us have a look.

My search made it clear that Cubitac and Fabuwood offer durability with all plywood box construction.

They have opted out of using particleboard to rely on better quality material for their cabinetry make. Since both make use of solid wood dovetail construction for their drawers, it means that they stand for long lasting durability for their products.

Then I found that they differ on one glaring point which was hardware.

This made all the difference since Fabuwood offered quality Blum hardware as a standard for all their cabinets while it was an additional cost upgrade in Cubitac.

The soft close function of sliders and hinges may be common for both brands but the quality of hardware decides the functional integrity of the product.

    Customization

The matter of customization was the core reason for my interest in examining Cubitac vs Fabuwood, so it stands that the better one should offer me more freedom of choice.

Cubitac as a brand pledges to keep it personal by following their customer’s vision while Fabuwood caters to their customer with a more extensive and adaptable sizing.

Though both brands boast longevity for their semi custom cabinetry, they differ on the matter of customization options.

Where Cubitac excels in their wide range of color and finish offers, Fabuwood has a broader variety of dimension specific modifications.

You can easily check Fabuwood base cabinet sizes and more on their guide to get a better idea.

It stands to reason that Fabuwood will attract you with its flexible make for uncommon and irregular layouts as Cubitac follows a more standard approach with sizing layouts.

Conversely, Cubitac will draw you in with its vast line of over 5000 custom colors over Fabuwood’s standard selection or any custom choice of Sherwin Williams color.

    Material And Construction

Cubitac vs Fabuwood emphasize stable builds that resist moisture damage with high quality plywood and solid wood components.

So if both provide similar makes, what makes them different?

Both brands supply all plywood box construction and solid wood drawers with dovetail joins.

They commonly use birch or maple alongside furniture grade plywood but differ greatly on the use of hardware.

Cubitac generally issues Blum slides and hinges but it usually comes as an upgrade against their standard make stock cabinets.

Fabuwood in contrast features premium Blum hardware as standard for all their makes which elevates its quality.

Fabuwood is well regarded for their quality craftsmanship featuring UV veneered plywood, solid wood dovetail drawers, first rate BLUM hardware, recessed plywood toe kick and more.

While Cubitac appeals with Medium Density Fiberboard (MDF) central panels, High Density Fiberboard (HDF) door frames, Blum soft close slides, hinges and so on.

    Design And Finish

When it comes to design, Cubitac vs Fabuwood cabinets are almost neck to neck as they offer their own variation of cabinetry lines or series.

The choice is dependent on whether you want a line that offers more custom colors like Cubitac’s 5000 plus customizable palette.

Or Fabuwood’s traditional framed and modern frameless series offering many options for door designs with custom color selections from Sherwin Williams.

Make note that Cubitac’s full overlay designs integrate 18 door styles throughout Imperial, Prestige, Presto and Basic cabinet lines with both painted and stained finishes with UV coated interior finishes.

Fabuwood also offers its own custom lines Allure, Illume and Ovela that feature a certain number each from a total of 11 door designs with their own stain and paint finishing methods.

I recommend that you look at their official sites or find the nearest dealer to get an idea of what each brand is offering.

    Warranty And Availability

I consider warranty and availability to come after the need for customization when it comes to cabinets.

When I looked into Cubitac versus Fabuwood cabinets, there didn’t seem to be much difference on the surface as both offered limited lifetime warranties.

A deeper dive revealed that the standard warranty for Cubitac was a total of 5 years until it was upgraded to a limited lifetime warranty for the first residential buyer.

Fabuwood offers the same limited lifetime warranty on its Allure, Value Premium, Valencia and other series but only for those bought after Oct 1st 2024.

The warranty for both brands covers natural defects in material and workmanship but does not include labour costs.

These brands are within better reach in Northern America through an authorized network of dealers.

So depending on local availability, the lead times will differ.

Fabuwood is known for reliable lead times ranging from 2 to 4 weeks, while Cubitac has a lead time of 2 to 8 weeks.

That said, you can locate your local dealer on either Cubitac or Fabuwood websites.

So tighten your nerves and visit the nearest Fabuwood dealer or head straight for the Cubitac showroom.

    Pricing

Price plays a huge role when it comes to choosing a cabinet brand for our kitchen layouts.

When I compared Cubitac vs Fabuwood price, it became clear that Cubitac was the more affordable choice as its per linear foot cost can dip below $300 which is not true for Fabuwood.

This Cubitac vs Fabuwood cost difference arises from the fact that Fabuwood cabinets include first class Blum hardware as a standard for their cabinet lines.

Apart from this, pricing can change depending on the choice of modifications and color selection.

This is especially true for Fabuwood since it offers an extensive range of customizations.

Make note here that both brands are considerably cheaper compared to premium made brands.

The typical customer looks for budget friendliness, so standard stocks for either brand will meet their needs.

You can look at Fabuwood or Cubitac cabinets price list to see what different dealers are offering online.

    Aesthetic Appeal

The make of both Cubitac vs Fabuwood consists of traditional, transitional and modern designs.

Disregarding the concern of budget, you can easily find the perfect look for your standard or irregular kitchen from their picture gallery.

If the Catalina with flat panel design of Fabuwood offers modern minimalist vibes then its Luna’s classic shaker frame embodies transitional flair.

On the other hand Cubitac’s transitional Imperial Madison has a narrow shaker style that will appeal to your simpler tastes with its sophistication.

There is more to see within Cubitac and Fabuwood cabinetry, so take a seat to begin your exploration.

You can expect to find the mentioned designs when you open the door styles section on Fabuwood’s official site.

So draw your inspiration from their gallery and rely on the 3D Visualizer plus Color AI to bring your ideas to life visually.

On the other hand, you will find that Cubitac only comes with a series gallery for door designs with colors to compare.

So open their mood board to see what top designers are providing.

Cubitac Vs Fabuwood: Pros And Cons

Making the choice between Cubitac vs Fabuwood is a struggle in itself.

I have to admit that I was conflicted given that both came with their own limits and hooks that stood out to me.

Through what we have discussed, we are clear that they are both focused on providing high quality all plywood and solid wood semi custom construction.

While Cubitac meets you in the middle for budget friendly projects, Fabuwood stands out for its Q12 quality parameters.

It is plausible that these factors alone cannot help you decide what to choose between the two.

So let me highlight the pros and cons of Cubitac and Fabuwood cabinets for a better look at what you will prefer.

The Pros And Cons Of Cubitac

If we are talking about the pros of Cubitac, then we must put forward the factor of its affordability.

This comes with a close focus on reliable construction that consists of all plywood boxes, dovetail drawers and solid wood components.

You will also be able to get a varied range of colors to pick from its more than 5000 custom color programs.

Now the cons that could make you decide against Cubitac are the limits of its semi custom selection.

It will not meet your expectations for fully custom kitchen layouts as their build is made to meet typical layout dimensions.

You must also take into account the option of hardware upcharges since they offer regular soft close components while keeping premium Blum hardware as upgrades.

The Pros And Cons Of Fabuwood

The pros of Fabuwood start with their flexible semi custom selection as they give more freedom to size and adjustable configurations.

They have made premium Blum hardware a standard for their high value product series like Allure while normalizing the use of Blum soft close hinges and drawer glides throughout.

Another point that is a solid positive is their transparency with sustainability standards following CARB2 (California Air Resources Board) standards and use of FSC (Forest Stewardship Council) certified wood.

If we are looking at Cubitac vs Fabuwood, then a major con for Fabuwood is its slightly higher cost.

Though it offers traditional, modern and transitional styles, its available color offers are more limited.

Any custom upgrades will add on the cost although it presents itself as an affordable grade product.

What do people think of Cubitac vs Fabuwood?

I think the search for the better brand between Cubitac vs Fabuwood cabinets is incomplete without understanding the point of view of real people.

We can only go so far with official guidelines without an actual review of how a brand stands the trial of use and time.

To figure out how people find the quality and standard of Cubitac and Fabuwood, I immersed myself in online reviews stretching over what the general take was on these two brands.

I even went on a deep Cubitac vs Fabuwood Reddit dive.

The results were mixed and in the end, I believe the choice of brand is a personal decision that should align with your vision.

Let us now have a look at the following to understand Fabuwood vs Cubitac cabinetry reviews!

    Cubitac Cabinetry Reviews

On this Reddit thread for recommendations on middle of the road priced cabinets, a user states “Look at Cubitac, Fabuwood.”

A Reddit user provides that they have had their “Cubitac kitchen for about 6 years and no complaints.”

Their general account is that it does not have the quality of an American made level cabinet but is good for its price point.

Another agrees that “As far as midline brands go, they are good.”

The usual concern with Cubitac is that there tends to be an inconsistency in the make and service of the brand.

A Redditor mentioned how they wished they did not install Cubitac “…because two of the three hinges detached from the box… very difficult on agreeing to send new ones.”

This sentiment is mirrored by a Cubitac consumer on Houzz who received damaged products “Unfortunately, more than five cabinets arrived too badly damaged…” This concern follows another who also got a damaged item “…and today received the wrong replacement.”

    Fabuwood Cabinetry Reviews

“I’d say Fabuwood is what you’re looking for” a Reddit user said which highlights Fabuwood as a middle range brand for cost and value. While another mentions Fabuwood being a default recommendation and says “Personally, I think Cubitac is better quality for around the same price range.”

Fabuwood is the recommendation between Cubitac vs Fabuwood Reddit as the user states that they “have been selling Fabuwood for about 15 years. By far the best customer service in the industry. They are superior to Cubitac or any other RTA imported cabinets”

A vendor for Fabuwood on Facebook had a parallel sentiment as they stated “I love Fabuwood. It’s hard to beat for the money and their customer service is off the charts.”

The reviews came out mixed as Fabuwood came with service and product concerns like Cubitac. This user on Reddit said “Half mine came in damaged. Then it’s another 3 week wait for replacements. Not really much cheaper in the end when you consider your time as money.”

How Does Cubitac vs Fabuwood Compare To Other Brands?

How Does Cubitac vs Fabuwood Compare To Other Brands

I hold the view that we should not limit our search unless and until we have seen the work of other brands.

If we are of the stock who look for budget friendliness, that does not mean we compromise quality and design.

Although our study of Cubitac vs Fabuwood had borne us vast results, we should not narrow our search without making a brand comparison.

The following brand discussion has been made to give you a better idea about other brands in comparison to Cubitac vs Fabuwood cabinets.

I hope that this brief overview will either open up your search or make you sure of your choice between Cubitac and Fabuwood.

You will find that Cubitac is best for those who seek custom colors and high end finishes within a limited and friendly budget.

They have a line of 14 brands like Timberlake, Shenandoah, and so on catering to consumers through different dealers and retailers.

The choice between Cubitac vs Fabuwood vs American Woodmark is subject to availability.

You will find Cubitac vs Fabuwood through authorized dealers while American Woodmark is generally available through Home Depot.

If we consider Cubitac vs Fabuwood price to American Woodmark, then the latter is best for consumers favoring the convenience of big box stores which includes promotions and sales.

    J&K

How Does Cubitac vs Fabuwood vs J&K Cabinetry

J&K Cabinetry was established in 2003 in Atlanta, Georgia as a wholesale manufacturer featuring premium RTA (ready to assemble) and semi custom cabinetry.

Therefore they boast valuable durability with Birchwood and plywood construction with styles ranging from contemporary, traditional to transitional.

The J&K vs Cubitac vs Fabuwood cost comparison shows almost negligible difference as they can be considered mid range.

But then the underlying factor of cabinetry build and lead time comes into play.

Make note that J&K comes first in lead time as compared to Fabuwood that is faster than Cubitac.

J&K is best for the consumer that desires a budget friendly product with wood durability for short rentals and less style requirements.

Where Cubitac and Fabuwood are low to middle range brands that offer semi custom products, Omega is for the consumer who is building a forever kitchen for their forever home.

It is not the choice for budgeting or work within a limited time frame, so go with Cubitac or Fabuwood for quick lead times and friendlier costs.
